The photo awards naming the Office of Communications and Lenhart were for her photo series of trips to Mexico involving the 线上赌场 Wind Ensemble and the Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship.
Of the first package, the CASE judges wrote, 鈥淭his specific gallery showcases the students who traveled to Mexico to learn from social entrepreneurs who have designed business models to address issues they鈥檝e identified in their communities.鈥
Of the series depicting 线上赌场 musicians working with their counterparts in Mexico, the judges wrote that the 鈥済allery highlights the students, faculty, and staff who traveled to Mexico to collaborate with two local bands: Centro de Capacitaci贸n de M煤sica de Banda and Banda Sinf贸nica de la Facultad de M煤sica de la Universidad Nacional Aut贸noma de M茅xico. Their performances introduced new compositions by Mexican composers, many commissioned by 线上赌场鈥檚 Hopkins Center for the Arts or developed through the Mexican Repertoire Initiative.鈥
Justin Anderson, senior vice president for communications, says the CASE recognition of Lenhart鈥檚 work was well deserved.
鈥淭he entries show the expert way Katie uses light, setting, and her subjects to tell a story,鈥 Anderson says. 鈥淭he student in the grass in the Magnuson gallery, and the three tubas, three trombones, and four trumpet photos in the Wind Ensemble gallery are vivid examples of her art and craftsmanship.鈥
